Factory Built Modular Homes in Michigan

There is a lot of confusion on what modular homes are in the market place

A Modular Home is a house that is built in a controlled environment (factory). It is transported on a flat bed and then erected on a permanent foundation, basement, or crawl space.

These homes can be ranches, 2 stories, cape cods, or a custom design floor plan. It is important to note that they are built to the same building codes as their counterparts, (homes that are built entirely on the site). Building codes vary from state to state. The current building code for the state of Michigan is Universal Code, which is very close to the previous Boca Code.

The advantages of a Modular Home (sometimes called a System Built Home) are many. Since they are built in a enclosed controlled environment, they are built to exact standards and are not subjected to weather, which means the materials are not subjected to black mold or warping. Modular Homes allow the foundation to be put in the ground at the same time the home is being built at the factory, this means the building process is much faster. Cutting down on the time it takes to build your home means the cost of construction draw loans are much less expensive then traditional built homes. You get a better built home for less money, built faster to exact standards. What could be better??

Parkhurst Estates Community Room!

Posted March 8th, 2012 by aWsait2013 and filed in Parkhurst Estates

The community room at Parkhurst Estates has been a popular spot for friends and families to gather and build memories together. For all Parkhurst Estates residents, there is no charge for its use. They have been using it freely and responsibly since its completion, leaving it clean and fresh for the next person to enjoy.

Some of the events that the room has been used for are: Homework Club, On Tuesdays during the school year, teachers from Oak View Middle School have given their time to help the kids work on their homework. They buy pizza and have brought many smiling faces, not to mention satisfied stomachs. In addition, we have the traditional birthday parties, baby showers, and retirement parties.

In October of 2011, a local dental college brought the advanced students in for health screenings with the supervision of teaching staff. We also had a small job fair. A local staffing agency came in to provide guidance, counseling, and encouragement to help some of our residents find work.

Finally, this author’s all-time favorite, a STAR party. Adults and children alike could look at our Moon, Jupiter’s moons, and the rings of Saturn.
The Parkhurst Estates Community Room has (and will continue to be) a popular spot with our residents. It is where neighbors and friends can build memories and strong bonds together. It brings everyone closer and creates a strong community.
